I should like to express my gratitude...

I should like to express my gratitude for a healing which our young son experienced some time ago. We were doing some shopping one afternoon and went into a store to make some purchases. The door to this store was a heavy glass one with a metal edge bordering it. When the door closed, my son's thumb was caught near the back hinge and was mashed.

My thoughts turned immediately to God, and I knew that He would give me the right thoughts to meet this situation. The child began to cry quite loudly; so I picked him up in my arms and went out of the store.

Then three consecutive healing thoughts came to me. I knew that in reality this child was God's perfect idea, and thus he was spiritual, whole, complete. Then it logically followed that he could never be separated from God. The third thought was the perfect prayer that Mrs. Eddy has given us in "the scientific statement of being," the first lines of which are these (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." I declared this aloud to my son, and before I had completed it, his crying had stopped.
