For a number of years I looked...
For a number of years I looked to people for happiness. If a misunderstanding arose, resulting in a separation from friends, I would lose my joy and become over-whelmed with tears of self-pity. Through the consecrated work of a practitioner and much study of the Bible and of Mrs. Eddy's writings, the light of Truth came to my consciousness; a desire to be obedient and a willingness to turn from personal sense to divine Love for happiness followed. The result was that my joy returned. Lack was overcome, and many new friends came into my experience.
Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 60), "Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul." On the next page is found this passage: "We cannot circumscribe happiness within the limits of personal sense." These statements proved helpful to me in gaining an understanding of true joy and in working out the problem of supply.
Another healing for which I am extremely grateful is that of constipation from which I had suffered for a number of years. This condition was healed in one treatment through the work of a practitioner.
