Approximately twenty years ago I was healed of periodic pain simply through reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I continued reading the book and was healed of neuritis in the arm a few weeks later. For these and the many healings which have followed, I am immeasurably grateful to God.

Several years ago a pain suddenly developed in a leg, and although I spent two days and nights in prayerful study, the condition did not yield. On the third day the pain had crept up to the thigh.

That evening an opportunity presented itself to me to do a kindness to someone. At first I thought I could not possibly do it because of the pain I was experiencing. However, on second thought I agreed to help in the way which had been requested, and the love which impelled this desire to be of service brought healing, for a few minutes later the pain had disappeared. When I related this experience to a friend, she said that the love which is in our consciousness must be made active, and that was the way I regained my freedom.
