True Advancement

"Merely to gain material possessions ... or to accumulate material knowledge is not true progress"

In spite of fluctuations and setbacks, mankind has made forward steps, bettering itself materially, until now we are living in an age of such material progress that many people have been able to achieve a higher standard of living than has previously been known. Though we should not confuse material advancement with spiritual progress, we can understand through the teachings of Christian Science that material inventions are signs of mankind's progress out of the more obvious limitations of materiality.
