I am indeed grateful for Christian Science,...

I am indeed grateful for Christian Science, and I am happy to testify to its healing efficacy. Greater peace and poise have come into my experience as I have gained a fuller understanding of God and of man's relationship to God as His reflection through the study and application of this Science.

With the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of the smoking habit. I found that I was using tobacco as a crutch in times of nervous stress, and what a poor crutch it was! One of the statements from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy that helped in this healing was this one (p. 407): "Puffing the obnoxious fumes of tobacco, or chewing a leaf naturally attractive to no creature except a loathsome worm, is at least disgusting."

Another healing I should like to relate is that of a burned finger. While I was cooking chicken, the grease spattered and enveloped one of my fingers just as though I had deliberately dipped it into the hot fat. I declared the truth that God, good, has all power, that the grease had no inherent power, and that the finger had no intelligence whereby it could state that it had been harmed. The healing was instantaneous.
