LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

New Zealand Methodist Times

New Zealand Methodist Times Christchurch, New Zealand

In his presidential address to the Methodist Church Conference [a minister] referred to "modern cults and fancy religions," of which he named four, including Christian Science. "While they have certain admirable qualities in their philosophy and outworkings," the president said, "[they] cannot be regarded as Christian, for Jesus Christ is not for them central as Lord and God and Saviour."

May I assure your readers that Christian Science, in teaching and practice, is truly Christian, also that it is not "a modern cult or fancy religion," but derives from the inspired Word of the Bible.
