Relocation of Reading Room Brings Growth

Establishing a Christian Science Reading Room in a prominent and easily accessible location where it could be of real comfort and enlightenment to many is bringing abundant fruitage to a branch church. Here is the interesting report:

"Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in the textbook, 'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' (p. 570): 'Millions of unprejudiced minds—simple seekers for Truth, weary wanderers, athirst in the desert—are waiting and watching for rest and drink. Give them a cup of cold water in Christ's name, and never fear the consequences.' How truly our Christian Science Reading Rooms, these quiet, peaceful harbors, are supplying the 'cup of cold water in Christ's name' to the hearts searching for Truth!

"For months the members of this branch church had been considering the possibility of erecting a new church edifice. Although much prayerful work had been done and certain preparatory steps had been taken, there came a time when it seemed that a decision to proceed with this undertaking could not be reached. At this point a new and unexpected development claimed our attention, and the fact that it would bless our community, and consequently ourselves, was very appealing. An opportunity to establish a ground-floor Reading Room in the heart of our nation's capital was presented to the members. There appeared little doubt that this was Mind's unfoldment as the next step in our church building program.
