"THE LORD SHALL REJOICE IN HIS WORKS"
Alluding to God's perfect creation, Mary Baker Eddy declares (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 519): "Deity was satisfied with His work. How could He be otherwise, since the spiritual creation was the outgrowth, the emanation, of His infinite self-containment and immortal wisdom?"
Why should not God be satisfied with what He has made, for it is a complete spiritual creation, formed after His perfect likeness? God imbues His creation with His incomparable nature, with His perfect goodness. Matter or mortal error is not included in God's nature.
The creation of God, Christian Science makes clear, is not an abstract, visionary ideal to be understood and demonstrated at some future day. God's creation includes man in his real selfhood. This selfhood we can understand and progressively demonstrate today. God's man, His noblest work, is perfect. The spiritual and eternal nature of our being is provided by God, and this fact can be proved in Science.
