KEEPING IN TUNE WITH GOD

One day, while talking to a policeman in his radio-equipped squad car, I asked him what would happen if his radio should be tuned to another station at the time an important message was being sent to him. He replied that such an occurrence was impossible, because his radio was permanently tuned to the frequency of the transmitter from which he got his orders.

Later, thinking of this incident, it occurred to me that this pointed a useful lesson to the student of Christian Science. What a source of protection and strength it is if the student realizes clearly that because he is in reality the image and likeness of God, his spiritual consciousness is and can be in tune with God, divine Mind, only!

The beloved Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, writing before the days of radio broadcasting, saw this fact clearly. Hear her speak to us today from the pages of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 284): "Thought passes from God to man, but neither sensation nor report goes from material body to Mind. The inter-communication is always from God to His idea, man." All real messages, then, come from the divine Mind to man, and they are wholly good.
