Until his twentieth year our son was a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School. Later he served as an usher in his branch church and as a teacher in the Sunday School. We are very grateful that he had this firm foundation in the truth, because it protected not only him, but also the crew of the LST (Landing Ship, Tank) of which he was the young skipper during World War II.

Members of the crew have written to us, and he has told us also that many times on the eve of a dangerous mission they would ask him to read to them from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. These readings and his prayers always comforted them, and many times they were saved from disaster. For this we are more grateful than words can express.

A few years ago I had an experience which demonstrated the truth we learn in Christian Science. The car which I was driving collided with another car. Immediately after the impact the thought came to me, as clearly as though the words had been spoken, "There is a blessing to be had here."
