WHAT AM I SEEING IN CHURCH?
Just as we learn through the study of Christian Science to behold the real, spiritual, perfect man in order to gain and maintain physical freedom, so must we learn to establish in consciousness the true concept of Church in order to maintain harmony in the human institution, church.
On page 583 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy defines the true, spiritual "Church" as, "The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle."
The second paragraph of this inspired definition promises practical fruitage in human experience. It reads, "The Church is that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick."
