"GOOD ALONE IS HERE"
We read in the first chapter of Genesis that "God created the heaven and the earth" and that He "saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." There is no mention of evil of any sort. Consequently, what is called evil is only a false belief about what is true, about what God created.
The Psalmist sang (Ps. 33:5), "The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord." At times, it may seem that good is not present; sickness, inharmony, or lack in home and in business may seem to exist; but Christian Science teaches that at no time can these unwanted conditions be really present, for God, good, fills all space and is never absent. An understanding of this fact brings good into our human experience.
Why do we not always see and experience good? Because we believe in the reality and power of evil. But since God is All, evil is not real, nor is it a power. Mary Baker Eddy says of evil (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 71), "It is neither person, place, nor thing, but is simply a belief, an illusion of material sense."
