I should like to share an experience which I had some years ago while living on a farm. My husband and I had some chickens which needed care, and I was making a warm place for them. I worked quickly because I had to move heavy boxes, including a box of grits and one of crushed oyster shells.

The next box, containing powdered lime, was so light that when I lifted it energetically, I threw the contents all over my face and head. The lime penetrated my eyes, as well as my nose and ears, so that I was unable to see.

Since we had no telephone, my husband had to go a long distance to call for help. While he was gone, I faced the suggestion that I would never see again. I turned completely to divine Love and gained the assurance that I need not be afraid. I recalled the words in Isaiah (65:24), "And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." I was instantly conscious of the ever-presence of God and of the help that is always available.
