TILLAGE
Let
us prepare the acres,
Plow up the hungry soil,
For our forthcoming lecture
Deserves much Christian toil,
So let us ask the Father
How we may rout each weed,
Make our collective thinking
Receptive to that seed
Which sprouts as inspiration
And flowers into zeal
To labor in Love's vineyard,
And prove Love's power to heal.
Then, when we see the fruitage,
How joyous it must be,
If now we plow the acres,
And till them faithfully!
Richard Carver
