About forty years ago a woman...
About forty years ago a woman had been invited to my house by a friend. My friend, who was not a Christian Scientist, knew that the doctors had said I would never be well, and she thought this woman, who was a Scientist, could help me.
After the birth of my second child, I had had two major operations. The doctor had said that I would never be able to do my housework or take care of the children and that I must be satisfied to be waited on. In other words, I was to accept the condition and adjust myself to it.
I asked the Christian Scientist some questions, and all her answers were quotations from the Bible. I certainly could not deny them. In a few minutes, I knew that this woman had the understanding I needed. Previous to this conversation, I had read the Bible often and had said I knew it could heal me if I could understand it. Now I wanted to know more about this wonderful truth and was told of a practitioner in a town a few miles away.
