THE REMEDY FOR FEAR

Mankind has ever sought the remedy for fear. Yet neither ancient or modern charms, medicine, psychiatry, nor psychology has found the solution for escaping dread of impending evil. Fear still remains a problem to many people in our times, because the only way of escape has not been utilized.

Christ Jesus knew and availed himself of this way, which his beloved disciple John has described simply in these words (I John 4: 18): "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear." The simplicity of this remedy has eluded mankind because it is a spiritual, not a material, one. It is based on an understanding of God as all-inclusive Love.

Christian Science accepts the Bible teaching that God is Love, the only creator, who made everything good and made man in His image. At the burning bush, Moses caught a glimpse of the true nature of God as the all-inclusive I AM. Later, perceiving the supremacy of Mind when at God's bidding he took up the serpent and saw it become a staff, he set to his task of leading the children of Israel out of bondage and proved the presence of God's love each step of the way.
