One evening as my husband and...
One evening as my husband and I sat at home, reading, he received a telephone call which informed him that two tank barges containing gasoline were afire up the Ohio River, about twenty miles from our home. Since my husband is a member of the Coast Guard, he left the house immediately and proceeded to the scene of the fire.
I was seized with fear as I thought of the danger of exploding gasoline. But I was also filled with spiritual light and inspiration and a great sense of gratitude to the Christian Science practitioner who had helped us once before under similar circumstances. I felt that this time I would be able to meet the situation courageously and alone.
Turning to God, I declared that He is All-in-all. I also realized that there is no power or Mind other than God. Therefore it was clear that there is nothing to fear.
