I cannot begin to relate all the...
I cannot begin to relate all the blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. At one time, while running, I fell down five steps and landed in a sitting position. All I could think of was a testimony which I had heard in which the testifier, who had experienced a fall, called out: "O God! O God!" She was protected from injury.
At the time I heard this testimony I thought, "No doubt it was quite a fall, but that testimony will never help me." And indeed because of the severe pain, I could hardly repeat the words; but they kept coming back to me. As the realization of God's presence and power came to my consciousness, my healing was gained. In a few moments I was on my way to keep an appointment.
What I experienced in those few moments was heavenly, and I thought, "We never know just when we will be blessed by the truths we hear or read."
At another time I slipped on an icy cement step and fell so hard I could not call for help, nor could I make the effort to get up. A neighbor across the street saw me fall and quickly came to my rescue. Although I felt that I had been seriously hurt, my thought turned to God in prayer, and after taking a few steps I was instantaneously healed.
I am very grateful for a happy home and for supply beyond expectation, which has resulted from my understanding of the truths of Christian Science. I am grateful for always being near a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and for being able to attend the services and the lectures. I am thankful that my son, who served as a Chaplain in World War II, is now a Christian Science practitioner and a Reader in a branch church.
I am thanking God for all who have helped me in my spiritual journey. I have been greatly blessed through class instruction and in having the opportunity to help others in many ways.—(Mrs.) Ernestine Shroth, San Fernando, California.
