Before knowing of Christian Science, I was very active in a Protestant church in our city. Reading the Bible was a great source of strength to me, but there were many passages which I had difficulty in understanding or even accepting. The explanations which were given me were never satisfying.

Then one day one of my relatives who was studying Christian Science had a beautiful healing by prayer alone, and this awakened me. I took up the study of Christian Science. The Bible passages which had seemed so difficult became clearer. I realized that I had never before really studied them from a spiritual point of view. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy also became to me a great revelation, and I studied it diligently.

I understood that it was helpful and important to work for this wonderful movement; so I applied for and was accepted into membership in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and in The Mother Church. I have had the great privilege of serving as clerk and also as a librarian in the branch church Reading Room, and this activity has enabled me to understand even more of Truth and to advance in it.
