THE ONLY CLAIMS ON MAN

THE Christian Scientist is a positive, true thinker. He knows that positive and scientific thinking leads to positive results. Consequently, he identifies himself as the reflection of God, Spirit.

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy sets forth the testimony of Spirit. She writes (pp. 252, 253): "Man, whose senses are spiritual, is my likeness. He reflects the infinite understanding, for I am Infinity. The beauty of holiness, the perfection of being, imperishable glory,—all are Mine, for I am God. I give immortality to man, for I am Truth. I include and impart all bliss, for I am Love." Spiritual man stands complete, unchanged, unfallen, and the Christian Scientist's task is to see and acknowledge this fact and prove it unhesitatingly.

The claims of mortal mind or material sense, "I am sick, I am in want, or I am afraid," not only are contrary to the very harmony of being which everyone desires, but also conflict with the Scriptural prophecy concerning those who dwell in the heavenly Jerusalem (Isa. 33:24), "The inhabitant shall not say, I am sick."
