In the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy we read (Article VIII, Sect. 1), "Neither animosity nor mere personal attachment should impel the motives or acts of the members of The Mother Church." A healing I had five years ago made the meaning of these words dearer to me. I hope it may help others as the testimonies have so often helped me.

One Saturday morning an infection appeared on my neck and spread rapidly. I requested the help of a Christian Science practitioner, who began prayerful work for me. On Monday a visiting Christian Science nurse was called. She advised me not to look at or touch the breaking-out, which had spread over the shoulders and continued to grow worse.

In order to co-operate with the practitioner and help effect the healing, I denied the fear and began to spiritualize my thought through prayer and through the constant study of the Bible and Science and Health. It was uncovered to me through my study that I was resenting and criticizing a woman in the house. "Now," I thought, "who am I to blame her?"
