Activities for the Armed Services

Christian Science Ministers for the Armed Services visit Veterans Administration Hospitals to help those veterans whose religious preference is Christian Science. Among their duties are the distribution of Christian Science literature and the placing of subscriptions for Christian Science periodicals in hospital libraries and in Chaplains' offices.

In hospitals where there are enough veterans interested in attending Christian Science services regularly, Ministers hold services. At some other hospitals Ministers transport veterans to Christian Science services in branch churches and societies and to Christian Science lectures in nearby communities.

Available for the use of Ministers visiting Veterans Hospitals are The Mother Church television films, "How Christian Science Heals." The films have brought enlightenment and healing. Not only veterans have attended these showings, but also doctors, nurses, and hospital employees. Many of these have expressed much interest in the films and have said that they gained from them a new understanding of Christian Science.
