"WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT"

Ages take wings these days. Yesterday it was the atomic age. Today it is the space age. But there is another age of more importance to men than either of these. It is the spiritual age that Jesus ushered into the world, the age we are only beginning to understand. With spiritual power and authority, he met and overcame every phase of materialism and revealed the divine origin of man. We refer to Jesus' Godlikeness as Christ, that which made him superior to the flesh, that which endowed him with immunity to evil.

This Godlikeness of man is revealed in Mary Baker Eddy's discovery of Christian Science. In this discovery we are enabled progressively to identify ourselves with our original Godlikeness. And this divine identification gives us an increasing sense of dominion over evil in our human affairs.

When we identify ourselves with God, the element of faith is as necessary as spiritual understanding. The word "faith" has different shades of meaning. For instance, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says (p. 297), "Faith is higher and more spiritual than belief." Then she goes on to say, "It is a chrysalis state of human thought, in which spiritual evidence, contradicting the testimony of material sense, begins to appear, and Truth, the ever-present, is becoming understood."
