My sisters and I were brought up...

My sisters and I were brought up to look to Christian Science for all our needs—financial, moral, physical, and spiritual. One of our greatest blessings was the mental atmosphere of our home, free to a great extent from sickness. Another blessing, our mother's best gift to us, was her insistence on our attendance at Sunday School and on our absolute reliance on the Bible and our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for our standard of conduct.

After I grew up, I found that the freedom I had experienced as a child, I must demonstrate as an adult, either by myself or with the aid of a practitioner. When I felt the need of companionship after being single for many years, I strove daily to replace egotism with humility. I learned through a consecrated practitioner to be patient and to pray as Jesus did (Luke 22: 42), "Not my will, but thine, be done." A happy marriage resulted.

Since then our family has always had its needs supplied. When we have needed business positions, my husband and I have found them. Christian Science has also enabled us to experience harmonious relationships in business and with neighbors.
