BE A GOOD PORTER

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Peggy was taking a short trip with her father and mother and her two sisters to see some mountain property they had purchased only a short time before. Her grandmother also went along with them. Everyone was happy and eager to see the beautiful country that now partly belonged to them.

Just before the car started the arduous climb up the mountain road, Peggy complained of a pain in her stomach. Her father stopped the car; and then her mother tried to make her comfortable, but Peggy crawled into her mother's lap and began to cry.

Mother knew what had to be done. Peggy's father was asked to drive on, and her mother spoke to Peggy quietly and asked her if she remembered the time she had complained of a sore throat and how quickly that error had disappeared when they knew the truth about it. Peggy nodded that she remembered. Then her mother explained that the healing of her throat proved the statement found in the Bible (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
