THE PRACTICAL VALUE OF OUR LEADER'S HYMNS

Mary Baker Eddy richly endowed her followers with a collection of inspiring poems, seven of which have been set to music and included in the Christian Science Hymnal.

Christian Scientists love Mrs. Eddy's hymns because they speak directly to the heart and convey messages of love, courage, hope, and inspiration. By the singing of the hymns or by the prayerful contemplation of the words, guidance in making right decisions has been effected; confused and restless thinking has been pacified; divine protection has been demonstrated; health has been restored. Such proofs of the practical value of these sacred hymns have been substantiated at Wednesday testimony meetings in Churches of Christ, Scientist, and in the Christian Science periodicals.

The practical value of the hymns of our Leader is confirmed in the following words in the book, Hymnal Notes for Use with Christian Science Hymnal: "Mrs. Eddy's achievement in hymnody stands alone, because in every line of hers is seen not only the spirituality, love and aspiration that mark a devout Christianity, but also the statement of a demonstrable Science."
