"THE HARP OF MANY STRINGS"
Human thought has a receptive quality which enables it to entertain the constant good which God has for His infinite creation, man and the universe. It is spiritual sense, not material, which is capable of hearing, understanding, and of enjoying that good which flows perpetually from God to man.
It is not consistent with man's perfect relationship to God that any individual should close his thought to the divine harmony always right at hand. Neither is it wise for such a one to allow any form of discord to enter thought, for it is discord in one's thought which leads to discord in one's body or environment. Christian Science helps one to make a proper choice of mental companions.
Mary Baker Eddy points out in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 213), "Mortal mind is the harp of many strings, discoursing either discord or harmony according as the hand, which sweeps over it, is human or divine." Is it intelligent to allow the strains of inharmony to be played in our thoughts? The wise student of Christian Science will be ever on guard against mortal discords and ever receptive to divine harmonies of Spirit, God.
