I should like to tell of a healing...
I should like to tell of a healing which greatly enlarged my understanding of Christian Science. My husband and I, our two small boys, and another family who were not Christian Scientists went camping in the bush. Not long before we were to go home, our smaller son, who was just at the crawling stage, pulled over a can of water just removed from the campfire. The hot water went over one leg from knee to ankle and upon the toes of the other foot.
Two bus loads of tourists arrived at that moment just above our camp site and were attracted by the child's crying. By realizing that their many kindly intentioned offers were meant as an expression of helpfulness, I was able to keep quite calm.
I was especially grateful to the family who were with us. While not knowing just how Christian Scientists worked under these conditions, they quietly took the other children away and left my husband and me with the baby. Then, while our things were being packed up, I took the babe into the bush and steadily declared the truth.
