Over thirty years ago, when I...
Over thirty years ago, when I took up the study of Christian Science, I was a very heavy smoker. From the time I arose in the morning until I went to bed at night, I smoked almost continually.
After I had been studying Christian Science for a few months, I was desirous of applying for membership in The Mother Church, but I knew that I must be healed of the smoking habit before I would be accepted. One day I decided that the time had arrived for me to take my stand. I went to a practitioner's office and asked for help.
This was lovingly given while I was in her office, and when I arose to leave I knew that I was healed. In fact, the healing was so complete that, although I carried a pack of cigarettes in my pocket for several days, I had absolutely no desire for them. Neither was I offered tobacco by my associates or friends.
