THE FRUITS OF CONVICTION

To follow Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, one must that it was his unfaltering conviction of man's identity with the Christ that enabled him to perform his mighty healing works. This conviction enabled him to see through mortal mind's lies about his fellow men, lies which tried to present pictures of inharmony and imperfection. For such erroneous sugestions, he substituted the true consciousness of God's man, the spiritual, perfect likeness of God—divine Mind's own creation.

The principal reason for Jesus' conviction is dramatically revealed in the Gospel of John. Pilate said to Jesus (19:10), "Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify three, and have power to release thee?" And we read, "Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above."

Jesus' spiritual understanding of man as God's reflection resulted in his firm conviction of the unreality, hence the powerlessness, of evil in any form. Not only his wonderful works of healing but his resurrection and final ascension above all materiality were the direct results of this understanding and conviction.
