Activities for the Armed Services

Newfoundland

Through this column, "Activities for the Armed Services," many Christian Scientists learn that Christian Science Activities for the Armed Services is world-wide in scope. An interesting by-product of this fact occurred after the publishing of our column in the Christian Science Sentinel of July 13, 1957. This column described the healing of an Force officer, stationed in Newfoundland, who had a telegram sent to The Mother Church for help. The assistance that he received was prompt and effective.

After our description of this incident, a series of interesting events has taken place. First, we received several letters from parents who has sons in the United States Armed Forces in Newfoundland. Because these letters included the names and military addresses of their sons, we were able to forward this information to the Christian Scientist who has healed and who shortly thereafter became a Christian Science Representative in the Armed Services.
