A girlhood friend first interested...
A girlhood friend first interested me in Christian Science. She had been healed of chronic constipation from which she had suffered since childhood. When she asked me to read some of the literature, my interest was mild, even skeptical. However, I promised her that if the occasion ever arose, I would give Christian Science a trial.
About a year later, when I was living in a western city, I became ill with a tumor. My enlarged abdomen and general weakness so alarmed my friends that they urged immediate surgery. Finally I became so weak that I could not get around in our small apartment without support. At this point my husband wanted to send me to the hospital for an operation. But the prospect of having to be away from our two small christian made me decide to try Christian Science instead.
