Signs of the Times

Anne Arundel Star

Rev. C. Roger Elgert in the Anne Arundel Star Glen Burnie, Maryland

In the vineyards of our lives there are some little foxes which often do quite a bit of damage before we are even aware of their presence. For some reason it seems to be the little things that hurt us most in the long run. As some humorist has said: "Its the little things that get us and keep us on the rack. We can sit upon a mountain, but not upon a tack."

When something big is wrong, we can easily see it and make efforts to do something about it. But we don't notice the little things. They can creep into our lives and corrode them to the point that we are almost hopelessly hurt before we can discover what is wrong.
