HOW CHRISTIAN SCIENCE HEALS: August 24, 1957 Issue

RADIO PROGRAM No. 205 - Reformation Brings Healing

Speaker: We're all accustomed to regard honesty of purpose and sincere integrity as important in business, but our guest today learned that they are just as important in maintaining health. He was suffering from a disturbing skin disease and through prayer found that questionable business practices needed to be corrected. He's going to tell you about it himself. I'd like to introduce Mr. Lebrand Wykoff of Cleveland, Ohio.

Mr. Wykoff: This skin disease you referred to was very severe and disagreeable. It covered all but my arms, hands, and face, and I was afraid it would spread and be quite disfiguring. I had expert medical attention and was given salves and powders to use. It was diagnosed as a disease of the sweat glands. However, I was told that the cause was unknown and there was no cure, that I could expect some relief, but it would always return.

My mother had become interested in Christian Science, and in a desire to be helpful she had given me a copy of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. But I was very antagonistic to what I thought Christian Science was, and I ignored the book. However, my wife started reading it and became very much interested. When she saw how much this skin disease bothered me and how discouraged I was about being cured, she said, "Why don't you read this book?"
