All my life I have relied on Christian Science for my health and daily needs, and they have been supplied by divine Life, Truth, and Love. In the past few years, while I have been serving with the Air Force, my wife and I have had numerous opportunities to use this truth. Among other things, injuries received in an automobile accident, dogbite, fevers, and colds have been healed. Homesickness, fear of ivy poisoning, and other discords have been overcome.

An experience which meant much to us occurred in connection with the birth of our second child. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner, a harmonious and normal birth took place. However, that evening my wife informed me that she had not been permitted to have the baby with her. We immediately turned our thoughts from material suggestions to the truth of man's being, and all sense of anxiety disappeared.

When I got in touch with the doctor, I was informed that the baby had a serious case of jaundice, which, unless corrected, would require a blood transfusion. I informed the doctor that I was a Christian Scientist and that I desired to rely completely on God. Help was requested of a Christian Science Minister for the Armed Services. He asked my wife and me to raise our thoughts above the material picture by filling our consciousness so full of spiritual truths that there would be no room for error, and to put the baby completely in God's care.
