It is with heartfelt gratitude that I give this testimony of the good that has come to me through the study and application of Christian Science.

Some time ago I experienced an instantaneous healing. I awoke early one morning with an intense pain in the lower part of my abdomen. The pain became excruciating when I tried to straighten my body. After praying for strength, I rose from bed. Then, bent almost double, I went downstairs. In the kitchen I met my father, who is a student of Christian Science.

Immediately I began to relate my physical condition, but he seemed unmoved by the symptoms. When I had finished, he said only three words in an authoritative tone, "Stand up straight." I explained to him that this was an impossibility, because the pain was so great. He repeated his command, "Stand up straight," and I did. Immediately all pain vanished, and I was free. I realized then that my father was seeing me as in reality the perfect child of God, upright and free.
