WORKING THE WORKS OF GOD
Christ Jesus was about his Father's business as he made use of the inspired teachings of the law and the prophets each day. He said (John 5:17), "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work." Jesus knew his only power was the power he reflected from God. Did he not prove his closeness or at-one-ment with God as he healed the sick and gave joy to the sorrowing? When he multiplied the loaves and the fishes for the five thousand, he demonstrated his Father's love in the most practical manner. The multitude was assuredly refreshed with the truths of God, which he taught. Moreover, Jesus promptly met every need through the inexhaustible supply which the Father gave.
Mankind is learning that God's love, which enabled the master Christian to work the works of God nearly two thousand years ago, is present now to meet every need in this age. Divine Principle, God, has not changed. The man of God's creating has not changed; he remains God's eternal image and likeness. By using divine law, which maintains man's sonship with God, we work the works of God. Looking to God, the source of all good, for health, strength and happiness, we find there is no lack for His image and likeness to express.
To prove man's dominion is our God-given work, and the reward for such work is success, health, joy, completeness, abundance, and satisfaction. We do not have to go anywhere to do God's works. Our point of action is right where we are now, since we can at once commence to replace material concepts with spiritual facts. So-called physical disease yields to the realization of the unchanging fact that man is God's perfect, spiritual reflection. Our daily occupation should be cherished as a glorious opportunity to work God's works, to let our light shine forth for all to see.
