"The kingdom of God is within you" (Luke 17:21). This teaching of Christ Jesus' pointed up the truth that within every one of us lies the consciousness of good. Since the kingdom of God is within us, so within divine consciousness is oneness and completeness, but never discord or the thought of separation.

Should the belief of discord or separation, lack, sickness, or sin appear, we may be tempted to look for its cause in some outside influence. Material sense testimony would have us do that. But the remedy is to seek the kingdom of heaven, or the consciousness of infinite Love, where there is no room for anything unlike good.

Manifold proofs of God's loving care and direction are given us daily, and the constant acknowledgment of these blessings is necessary for our continued growth Spiritward. These proofs are referred to by Mary Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," where she writes (p. 387), "The history of Christianity furnishes sublime proofs of the supporting influence and protecting power bestowed on man by his heavenly Father, omnipotent Mind, who gives man faith and understanding whereby to defend himself, not only from temptation. but from bodily suffering." When the teachings of Christian Science are understood and practiced aright, these same proofs are available now.
