I should like to express my deep gratitude for the solution of a problem which had lasted for quite a period and which through God's help was beautifully solved. Several years ago I lost my position and was unemployed for nearly two years. I was considered too old for some kinds of work, but through the labor office several good positions were offered to me at various times. However, I could not overcome fear of inability, and things always fell through. This made me very depressed.

One day I was given a copy of The Herald of Christian Science (German Edition). In it I found an article which stated that God's good plan cannot be affected by fate or personal circumstances, because God is the only cause and so controls all effect. This thought aroused me and restored my courage. Soon afterward I was led to ask the labor office for a temporary position on an emergency work program. I was given the position, which was along a line of work I had formerly done, and I quickly gained confidence.

Six months later, shortly before this particular work was completed, I went to see a Christian Science practitioner, and I should like to express my gratitude here for his love and untiring help. He pointed out that Mrs. Eddy says in "Retrospection and Introspection" (p. 70). "Each individual must fill his own niche in time and eternity."
