Were I to relate in detail the blessings which Christian Science has brought to me and mine, they would more than fill the space available; so I shall confine my remarks to a few high lights of my cause for gratitude for this new-old religion.

In 1911 I attended a Christian Science Sunday School with a friend. Having just completed an extensive Bible course in which God was pictured as a stern, manlike being who had created man capable of sinning and held him responsible for doing so, I was deeply impressed by the Christian Science Sunday School teacher's explanation of God as ever-present Love, who is, as the Bible says (Hab. 1:13), "of purer eyes than to behold evil."

Hungering for a better concept of God, I purchased the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which proved indeed a key to the Bible. It revealed that since God is the only creator and man is made in His image and likeness, then God's intelligence, strength. ability, and joy are reflected by His children here and now, not in some far-off future time.
