With love and gratitude I wish to testify to the healing power of Christian Science. I am grateful to God as well as to Mary Baker Eddy and a dear practitioner for the great help I have received.

I had been ill for years, not only physically but also mentally. I was suffering from a chronic stomach and intestinal disorder, from a serious heart trouble, and from a bladder and kidney disease. Although I had undergone two operations, my condition was worse than before. These illnesses, together with unhappy conditions in the home, made me feel discouraged, and I lost all hope of ever being well again.

In 1955 I was attacked by severe pains in my back. The medical diagnosis was curvature of the spine and compressed nerves. Although I took the medicines prescribed, my condition became steadily worse, and finally I suffered a complete physical breakdown. When I did not know which way to turn, I remembered that a dear relative had given me a copy of The Herald of Christian Science (German Edition). I began to read it, and soon I became somewhat calmer. Then I looked up the telephone number of a practitioner and got in touch with her.
