I wish to express my deep gratitude to God for Christian Science, which was made available to us through the tireless, consecrated efforts of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Many years ago I experienced a healing which I should like to share, for I feel that some may be blessed by reading it in our periodicals.

The condition was not diagnosed; so I do not know whether it would have been called rheumatism or paralysis. For three weeks I sat in a chair, unable to lie down or to walk without assistance. I studied the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, with a fervent desire to know man as a spiritual idea, joyous and free, not encased in a human body. When in too much pain to read, I repeated hymns and statements of truth.

One night I felt weak to the point of exhaustion. While I was repeating and giving thought to one of our Leader's hymns (Poems, p. 12), my attention was arrested by the lines,
