WHAT IS PROGRESS?

Sooner or later all men must acknowledge God's omnipresent power, yield to His laws, and experience freedom from the ills, pains, and limitations of material sense. Although the world today seems enveloped in discord, misunderstanding, and controversy, divine Mind through its Science— its eternal laws—is compelling men to acknowledge that God alone supplies refuge from all earth's ills.

Christian Science is presenting to the receptive thought the nature of God and man. It also exposes the claims of evil. And those who practice the truths of this Science are applying the leaven in the world today which is forcing men to progress by lifting mankind to higher aims, desires, and accomplishments.

Through daily communion with God and obedience to His laws, Christian Scientists demonstrate an ever-increasing superiority over the ills of the flesh and the claims of material sense. They constantly listen for God's voice, surrender error for truth, and lift themselves and their fellow men into a clearer perception of God and the recognition of His ever-present kingdom. They follow in the footsteps of Jesus, who said (John 5:17), "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work." They cultivate the Christ, Truth, as their daily companion.
