Christian Science is indeed the...

Christian Science is indeed the pearl of great price, for it gives an understanding of God. I wish to acknowledge gratefully the many blessings which have come to me and my family through the practice of this Science. For many years it has met our needs when rightly and faithfully applied.

In the process of our raising three daughters, so-called children's ailments were quickly overcome. The girls' training in the Sunday School taught them how to love and to have no fear; therefore, their childhood was happy and free from lingering ailments.

While on a vacation at a summer resort, our youngest daughter lost her balance and fell from a diving board some twelve feet high to a concrete floor surrounding the pool. I am happy to testify that I had no fear for her life and kept holding to the Bible verse (Ps. 91:1), "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." Many other truths were declared, and I knew that the real man is always in God's care, as we learn in Christian Science. In conformity with the rules of the resort, a doctor was called. After a thorough examination, he said that the girl was unhurt except for minor bruises. As she rested, I read to her from the Bible and from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. That night she attended a party and dance, to the astonishment of all the guests who had witnessed the accident. There were no aftereffects.
