RADIO PROGRAM No. 196 - "They shall not sorrow any more"

Speaker: Life is immortal. All Christianity unites in grateful agreement with this comforting spiritual fact. The Master, Christ Jesus, came to prove the immortality of life, the never-ending nature of good. Our guest, Mrs. Grace S. Haerle of Minnetonka Beach, Minnesota, was healed of sorrow through her understanding that there is no end to life, no end to the eternal good which God bestows. Please tell us how this came about, Mrs. Haerle.

Mrs. Haerle: I'm very grateful to be able to share with others how our family was lifted above grief and sorrow and found comfort and peace when our oldest son passed on. This took place seven years ago, at the conclusion of the Christmas holidays. Our son left our home, which was then in Oregon, to return by plane to the university he attended in the East. Later that night we received word that the plane had crashed and that our boy was among those lost.

It has always been natural for our family to turn fully to God for help in time of need. We have experienced many healings through prayer in Christian Science; and so when we received this news, I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner at once for support. It immediately became clear to me that my decision for all time as to the deathless nature of God's child had to be made in these early moments; I realized I must fill my thought immediately with the understanding of divine Life—let this govern my thinking from the outset. With this understanding, I knew I could meet the suggestion of grief and not be overwhelmed by it.
