WITH WHAT SHOULD WE AGREE?

GOD, good, has only spiritual perfection to impart, and man, God's image and likeness, has only the capacity to reflect that perfection. God bestows good unstintingly, continuously, effortlessly. God's idea, man, is incapable of agreeing with or entertaining error. In man there is no defect, no evil, disease, discord, or death. God cannot introduce evil or disease into His own product, for such errors are completely contrary to God and unknown to Him. "Doth a fountain," asks James (3:11, 12), "send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh."

The child of God, God's perfect likeness, never was diseased and can never be even conscious of disease, because he is spiritual. Disease does not touch God or His reflection. Disease is not capable of entering the kingdom of God, man's real home. Were it in any way possible for disease or evil to approach the presence of God, it would expire and disappear in the effort; for error can no more coincide with good than darkness can exist in the presence of light.

The kingdom of heaven is not a locality. It consists of the ever-presence and the all-presence of God and His ideas. Since God is All, boundless, eternal, disease in reality has no locality. The only claim disease has to existence is in erroneous belief. Belief and its spurious product disappear into nothingness as the presence of Truth is acknowledged and understood.
