I am grateful to Christian Science for the understanding it has given me of the omnipotence and omnipresence of God and for the many blessings which have come to me from its study and application.

Over eight years ago, after a tragic experience in my life, Christian Science was presented to me by a friend. The comfort and peace of mind which this religion brought to me were indeed wonderful. I started attending services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and purchased a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. With the Bible and Science and Health I began the study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. While I was very grateful for the comfort this study afforded me, I could not accept the fact that Christian Science heals physical ailments.

However, within a few months this same friend and I spent a week of vacation in the desert. For many years I had been taking medicine almost daily for chronic constipation; so I took all my medicine along with me. The first day of our vacation I said to my friend, "I wish I did not have to take this."
