It is with a sense of joyous gratitude that I recall my first healing in Christian Science. I had been ill for several days and was unable to leave the bed without help.

One Saturday my husband prepared a meal and spread it on the table. Then he urged me to try to come and share it with him. With tearful effort and my husband's loving help, I went to the table. On it lay the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I opened this book to page 14, where I read: "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well."

Suddenly I was well! I rose from my chair and went to the piano, where I played a few measures. My husband exclaimed in amazement: "Why! You are better, aren't you?"
