It is with a grateful, trusting heart that I submit this testimony. Christian Science was first presented to me in 1932. I had heard of this teaching; but I thought of it as just another religion, and it meant nothing to me.

While I was in great pain from arthritis, a neighbor heard my groaning and came to me. She asked me if I would like to try Christian Science and offered to call a practitioner for me. In gratitude for her kindness I consented, although I had no faith in this method of healing and had sent for my sister, who was a medical nurse in a distant city.

So effective was the practitioner's absent treatment that when my sister arrived the next morning, I was able to prepare breakfast for her. I debated whether I should tell her of my help in Christian Science or keep it a secret. Finally I mentioned it to her and was surprised to find that she knew about this religion and had attended its church services.
