A PLACE PREPARED

IT is recorded in Mark's Gospel that Christ Jesus sent two of his disciples into a certain city to make ready the Passover. "Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.... And he will shew you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us" (14:13, 15). Today many students of Christian Science find the large upper room ready and waiting as they exchange material things for spiritual thoughts and fearlessly follow God's directing.

Willingness to let go, to surrender willful, human planning, and to let God work has, over a period of years, met unfailingly a young Christian Scientist's need of the right place. Through the working out of specific problems, she has gained a rich understanding of the statement made by Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 254), "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path."

Proof of this directing appeared first in the form of scholarship assistance, which enabled her to attend for two years a preparatory school some distance from home. Knowing that God's ideas are rightly placed, that one idea can never occupy or desire to occupy the place of another, and that "all things work together for good to them that love God" (Rom. 8:28), she was richly blessed in this experience.
